Policy Enactment

Senior Victoria Petroleum personnel set an example by following and promoting safe, healthy work practices and making decisions that have Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) as an integral part of the decision making process.

Senior Victoria Petroleum personnel visit the field on a regular basis to promote HSE and Corporate Responsibility. They ensure that contractor senior managers understand the HSE expectations of Victoria Petroleum.

Victoria Petroleum maintains processes and procedures to identify hazards and implements controls to eliminate the associated risk or to reduce them to “as low as reasonable practical” (ALARP).

Appropriate standards for the management of occupational health and safety are included in all service contracts where contractor personnel are working in the field.

Victoria Petroleum maintains a culture where HSE and Compliance issues can be openly discussed and resolved. All Victoria Petroleum personnel and contractors’ personnel are made aware of their right and duty to stop work if HSE is being compromised. HSE meetings are held regularly and all new personnel and visitors to the field receive HSE induction.

Victoria Petroleum maintains an Emergency Response Plan that ensures an emergency in the field will be contained and any injured personnel will be evacuated, and as quickly as possible.

All Victoria Petroleum personnel and contractors are required to report incidents no matter how minor. Serious incidents and near misses are investigated further to establish the root causes. The incident is then documented and actions implemented to prevent recurrences of similar incidents.
